* DDERT v1.0 is now available!! *
What is DDert?
DDert is an acronym for the Down and Dirty Eventlog
Reporting Tool. DDert is a utility for automatically
gathering and monitoring eventlog records from Windows NT, XP, 2000, and 2003
computers. Eventlog records are collected and stored in an MS SQL
database. The monitoring program allows the records to be reviewed,
sorted, filtered, and grouped so that Network Administrators can closely monitor
their computers without the tedious task of visiting each machine and manually
reviewing their event logs.
How will DDert help me?
Reviewing the eventlogs of your business-critical servers and workstations is
a necessary step for any conscientious Network Administrator. But, because
the reviewing process is tedious and time consuming, even the most diligent
Network Administrator can let this process fall behind. It is also easy to
overlook key eventlog records amid the mass of records that are generated.
DDert solves both of these problems by collecting the eventlog records
automatically and presenting them in a sorted, filtered, meaningful format.
And, since DDert is operating in real-time, the Network Administrator can react
proactively to server and workstation issues before they become down-time
problems.

DDert is
designed to do one thing and only one thing: eventlog monitoring. Other eventlog
utility vendors pack their products with unwanted add-ons that can drive their
pricing 10 to 30 times more than DDert.
If you are looking for a low-cost, reliable, eventlog reporting tool, DDert
is for you. DDert
only collects Windows based eventlog records. It is possible that future
releases of DDert might be expanded to include additional eventlog sources.
But currently we are focused on delivering a high-quality, focused, baseline
product for a good price.
